Poketo, purveyors of objects of unspeakable beauty, has a wallet that you Monkeys may be interested in. It’s designed by Japanese illustrator Yusaku Hanakuma whose creations will either elicit a “whoa awesome” or “WTF?” depending on your tastes. Check out some of his work at the Tokyo Zombie Art Exhibition here. Hanakuma is also a BJJ practitioner at Ichibanbosi Grappling over in the land of the rising sun. Twenty bucks buys you a place to put your cash and instant cool.

A while back I wrote an entry about MMA gear bags and the problem that a lot of us have which is how to deal with your sweaty, wet rash guards, gloves, gis, etc.

I’ve found a few additional possible solutions from a Lacrosse sports gear company called Warrior. If there’s anybody who knows how to deal with equipment funk, it’s lacrosse players. Check out their site, they have a bunch of decent looking bags that offer great ventilation and are conscious of the wet/dry separation issue.

These guys have also come up with a slick bag called the Black Hole Funk Off Bag which has a fan built into it that sucks fresh air in, and advertises dry gear in a few hours. The fan plugs into the wall, and is removable. Might not work with thick, folded up gis, but for rashies, MMA gloves, pads, it’ll probably do the trick.

CINCINNATI — A Cincinnati-area family got a smelly surprise when they opened a punching bag they purchased earlier this year.

Joe Heckel said he and his son were moving a TKO brand heavy punching bag from their garage to the basement when they decided to see what was inside in case the bag later leaked. But Heckel said that instead of sand or plastic pellets, he found the bag full of men’s and women’s underwear, some of it used.
