Danny Bonaduce on the Nunchucks
Hold your questions because I have no answers. I think the crowd reaction pretty much captures the general republic’s regard toward Bonaduce, much less his performance.

Here’s Frank Mir doing a seminar at Island MMA in Victoria, BC. Some fantastic info and great tips on the half guard in MMA. Also, since Mir’s background is BJJ he provides a great perspective on how he’s adapted his BJJ bottom game for MMA/wrestling. 10 parts to watch.

Behind the MAsk: Lucha Libre USA is a documentary about Mexican freestyle wrestling. If WWE is the cousin of MMA, then Lucha Libre is like the second cousin by marriage from Mexico. The mask thing is pretty cool and I wish we still had that in MMA. Although, I suppose fighters DO have masks in the way they present themselves publicly. For example, Josh Koscheck wears an asshole mask. It’s just unclear whether or not he can take it off.

Wrist locks are a grossly under-utilized technique family in the Brazilian style of jiu-jitsu. Traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu techniques are chock full of wrist lock techniques. It’s efficient in that small motions to manipulate the wrist can basically control the opponent’s entire body. This is true for several reasons:
The fact that many BJJ schools don’t have wrist attacks as part of their curriculum make wrist attacks a particularly feathery feather in your cap.
There’s no reason why you shouldn’t use them in training and competition unless you are under 18 years of age. They’re IBJJF legal for adults blue belt and up.
