Georges St-Pierre High Mount Armbar

An interesting modification of the armbar from mount. Georges gets up high to weaken the target arm, then leans forward to isolate the arm. Seems much less prone to escape than rolling back.

Half Guard Arm Drag Reversal

Half guard is one of my favorite positions to work from these days, so I’m always on the look out for new moves. Here’s a sweet arm drag from half guard to take the back.

Gun Kata

One part firearms skill, one part martial arts, one part bullshit gives you Gun Kata—a martial art invented by a guy named Kurt Wimmer. Wimmer directed the movie Equilibrium with Christian Bale.

From the film:

Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically-predictable element. The Gun Kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents, while keeping the defender clear of the statistically-traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increased lethal proficiency makes the master of the Gun Katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.

Basically, it’s so ridiculous that it’s awesome. See for yourself:

Weirdest Throw Ever

Cung Le Interviewed by AskMen.com

Want to kick like Cung? Here’s an interview for a fitness column on AskMen.com.

Do you take an opponents weight into consideration when training for an upcoming fight?

No, when I weight lift and when I do my conditioning, its strictly for muscle conditioning. When I wrestle is when I lift another person the same weight as myself, a little bit heavier or a little bit lighter, depending on my partner, to get that feel of picking up someone who weighs the same as me.
