BodogFight.com Updates

BodogFight.com now features more multimedia content about the fighters, and about the promotion in general. Apparently Bodog teamed up with Mixed Fighting Championship for this project, which would explain (sort of) why they went with a Russia vs. USA setup. The MFC’s first promotion was set up exactly the same way. To add a bit of a twist, Bodog has created a “Fan-Favorite Award”, in which the viewers can vote who they like the most, and that fighter goes home with a $50K purse. It might seem a bit strange for a gambling enterprise to start in the world of MMA, but they definitely have the cash. We’ll see if they got the brains to match. Word on the street is that these fighters are getting paid a very competitive salary.

Still no idea why the hell Calvin Ayre is doing this, but I’m guessing it’s probably for the same reason he created his own Battle of the Bands, a record label, marketing conference, and foundation—because he can.

I’m hoping this photo found on the Episodes page isn’t an accurate forecast of the quality of the fights. I guess there are just moments even in the toughest sports that will look gay no matter what.

Starting next Tuesday (9/19) there will be a new fight available every week on BodogFight.com. The show will be hosted by Canadian rocker she-dude Bif Naked. Fighting first will be the contenders for Team America (Fuck Yeah!)

The Russian team comes out of St. Petersburg’s Red Devil Sport Club, famed for being the training grounds of Pride pimps Fedor and Aleksander Emelianenko. The American team looks to be a random assortment of hand-picked fighters.

There’s also a free drawing to train for two days at Eddie Millis’ Shark Tank in Los Angeles. Check out the site for more details under the contests section.

Also coming down the pipe are rumors of increased betting lines for MMA events on Bodog Sportsbook. More on that later.
