Bad Blood

Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. You’ve seen them on The Ultimate Fighter 3 all up in each other’s grill. Honestly, I think the instigator in those situations has always been Shamrock. Maybe it’s the roids talking, but the dude definitely has a composure problem. Most people probably would back down when “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” starts getting upset with you, but I guess Tito isn’t most people, and their confrontations escalate quickly into name calling and death threats. Although I must admit that Ken throws out some pretty crafty quips whenever they face off.

They faced each other in UFC 40, where Tito basically turned Ken’s face into the topography of a potato. Tito by corner stoppage. Since then, Shamrock has lost 2 out of 3 fights with the win being against the beefy, but unskilled Kimo. At one point, he asked for a ridiculous sum of money to fight in the UFC, so Dana White set him up to lose to Rich Franklin after which his contract was renegotiated at a more reasonable price.

Shamrock’s appearance on TUF3 has been enlightening to say the least. His team got whooped for pretty much the entire season because he did zero cardio with them and brought in a nutritionist instead of coaches to help out.

When mutiny was imminent and his team began to turn on him, he made no efforts to fix things or admit that perhaps his training methods were lacking. So what kind of person would do this? An insecure one. Someone who knows he has gone past his prime but refuses to admit it.

A person who is as insecure as Shamrock is has no business fighting anymore. His mind will not allow him to win.

In any case, UFC 61 will settle this score hopefully once and for all, and we won’t have to hear Ken bitch or look at Tito’s enormous head anymore. Seriously. It’s freakin’ huge.
